What is metaverse technology?
Metaverse: Metaverse is a virtual environment where people work, play games, and socialize. The term metaverse is a mix of “meta” and “universe” which means “beyond the universe”. It is a virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space. Metaverse uses Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Internet technologies.
In simple words, we can see the virtual avatars of persons we are meeting with online by wearing VR headsets, and we feel like the others are sitting in front of us. We can buy goods, interact with people, do meetings at one table, etc.
According to learningenglish.voanews.com,
“Metaverse describes a non-physical world in which individuals can interact through different kinds of virtual technology. For example, a metaverse could permit people living on different sides of the world to meet up through technology and virtually go on a vacation, play sports or work together on projects.“
The very first time, Neal Stephenson made the term “metaverse” in his 1992 novel Snow Crash. Humans, as avatars, interact with each other and software agents in a three-dimensional virtual reality that uses the metaphor of the actual world, as described in Neal Stephenson’s 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash.
More tiny virtual worlds would be included within the Metaverse: layered digital worlds created for certain purposes based on an individual’s interests. So, for example, a digital world for education or one for amusement could exist.
Other people in the virtual area can see you since the Metaverse is based on presence. This would be in complete contradiction to Second Life, which is built around avatars. The Metaverse would be so large that you could feel as if you were living in it while interacting with other digital beings at a high level. For example, while traveling to distant planets and other parts of the universe, you’d be able to access information and complete jobs simply by thinking about it.
Elements of Metaverse
The elements/components of metaverse are video-conferencing, games like Minecraft or Roblox, cryptocurrencies, email, virtual reality, social media, and live-streaming Virtual Worlds. Mirror Worlds. Augmented Reality.
“Video-conferencing, games like Minecraft or Roblox, cryptocurrencies, email, virtual reality, social networking, and live-streaming” are examples of metaverse aspects. The previously described cyberspace has continued to evolve and now includes a variety of computer-mediated virtual environments. Such a rapidly expanding cyberspace points to a digital ‘big bang’ fueled by a variety of technologies and ecosystems.
Extended Reality, User Interactivity (Human-Computer Interaction), Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Computer Vision, Edge, and Cloud Computing, and Future Mobile Networks are examples of technologies that facilitate the transition from the existing Internet to the metaverse. Surprisingly, the metaverse environment allows humans to live and play in a self-sustaining, enduring and shared environment. As a result, user-centric factors such as Avatar, Content Creation, Virtual Economy, Social Acceptability, Security and Privacy, and Confidence and Responsibility are considered in the metaverse ecosystem.
Possible Uses of Metaverse Technology
What will be possible in the Metaverse is still unknown; however, many anticipate that one of the first services to be supplied will be an advertising service. Imagine being able to live, work, and play all in one place, with your virtual avatar being able to see advertisements based on the places you visit.
Interactive products or websites are another way for businesses to market to their customers. This means that consumers might shop for things right away without having to log in because they are already on the site. If this happens, thanks to the Metaverse, internet purchasing will take on a whole new dimension.
Not what we will be able to achieve, but where we will be able to go, is one of the most amazing aspects of the Metaverse. Huge advancements have been achieved in 3D modeling and simulation technology, which means that the possibilities for designing and building new places and worlds for people to visit are virtually limitless. Consider what it would be like if you could design and create a replica of your favorite football stadium or city with only a few computers. It is projected that planets like this will exist in the Metaverse.
What is Facebook Metaverse?
Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook would become a “metaverse company.” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told his employees about an ambitious new initiative. The future of the company would go far beyond its current project of building a set of connected social apps and some hardware to support them. Instead, he said, Facebook would strive to build a maximalist, interconnected set of experiences straight out of sci-fi — a world known as the metaverse. Source: theverge
Not only Facebook is focusing on metaverse, but other companies like Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite game, Microsoft Enterprise Metaverse, NVIDIA Omniverse, Roblox RBLX, and Tencent TCEHY, etc, All of these companies have begun working on metaverse technology and soon will show the final output.
What is the Roblox metaverse?
Roblox is an online gaming platform and game creation program. Which was developed by Roblox Corporation. It allows users to program games and play games created by other members. It was created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2004 and released in 2006. Roblox’s vision for the metaverse is to create a platform for immersive
